Photography is one of my greatest joys in life. It would be my greatest joy, but lucky for me I have a wonderful husband, three fantastic children, and two irritating but lovable cats who make the top of the list, as well. (I also really like coffee.)

I started doing photography while studying art education at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. As soon as I found myself feeling sentimentally attached to the smell of darkroom chemicals and choosing to spend my weekends developing pictures, I knew I was hooked on the medium for good.  By the time I graduated, I made the switch from film to digital and found myself equally in love with that process.

I went on to get my master’s in fine arts education from UWRF and got the chance to study photography more. I even wrote a thesis paper on documentary photography, one of my very favorite topics in the whole wide world. (And yes…I provided a link for you so you can download and read my paper. You’re welcome.)

Although my artistic interests span many mediums, photography is my true love.  Through my business, I am blessed with the opportunity to make images of people, my favorite subject.   I am constantly searching for ways to visually capture the ordinary and extraordinary moments that surround us through fresh, creative, and candid photographs. My job allows me to meet all sorts of interesting people and tell their story through pictures.  (Don’t I have the best job in the world?)

My services include, but are not limited to, weddings, family photos, newborn photos, senior portraits, professional headshots and other freelance work. I am based in Northfield, Minnesota but happily work throughout the Twin Cities and beyond.
